Meditative Yoga: A journey through Swadyaya (Self Study)
with Padma Michelle
WED JUN 10, 7 - 8 PM EDT (WED JUN 10, 7 - 8 PM EDT)

This unique class blends active movement with meditative stillness, offering a full-body experience through both I AM Yoga and Yin Yoga. Over the course of four to five weeks, we intentionally work with the same core sequence of postures, creating a consistent framework for self-study and deeper awareness. Rather than constantly changing shapes, this approach allows you to witness your own patterns, sensations, and internal shifts over time.

We follow the Integrative Amrit Method of Yoga (I AM Yoga), emphasizing conscious movement, inner awareness, and energetic integration. This is an all levels class, open to everyone. Each week, you will revisit parts of the Level 1 Posture of Consciousness sequence with guided alignment, mindful activation of pressure points, and extension of energy lines. As familiarity grows, the practice becomes less about learning poses and more about observing your relationship to effort, sensation, and presence.

The repetition of the same sequence becomes a powerful tool for self-inquiry. You begin to notice subtle changes in strength, flexibility, breath, and mental focus. What once felt challenging may soften, and what once went unnoticed may become clear. This steady rhythm supports a deeper connection to your body and reveals how awareness evolves when given time and consistency.

After the active portion, we transition into long-held Yin Yoga postures, also repeated throughout the series. These floor-based shapes are held for several minutes, allowing the body to open gradually while the mind settles into stillness. With each class, the nervous system learns to relax more deeply, and the body becomes more receptive to release and integration.

No experience is necessary. You do not need to know pose names or remember anything. Simply show up, follow the guidance, and allow the repetition of practice to become your teacher. Over time, this consistent and intentional approach transforms the class into a living study of the self, where awareness deepens, presence stabilizes, and the practice extends beyond the mat.
